Another Opinion

I’m sure the idea of yet another blog, much less a “mommy” blog, is boring and overdone. I get it. Video is where it’s at anymore. I, however, do not have the equipment to make a video of any real quality, nor the time to edit a video. It would just be me ranting. Probably in my van, a la Matt Walsh. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not the worst thing in the world, but I’m much better at writing.

So here I am, writing my first entry in this blog, The Lioness. My kids are screaming in the background, my husband is working the second half of his double, and I am drinking a coffee and protein shake mix from my Awaken with JP mug while wishing I had a real keyboard instead of the digital iPad keyboard. That’s definitely an investment I plan to make.

Now a little about myself. I am a mother of three kids; four year old A, 3 year old G and one year old R. I’ve been married to the same wonderful man for eight going on nine years. I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a republican. I homeschool my kids, or will starting this fall as my oldest is just about to turn five. I love painting, drawing, crafting and all manner of artistic expression. I play bass guitar and love to sing. I love to listen to Matt Walsh, Candace Owens, and Ben Shapiro and I think if I ever met any of them in person I would make a complete fool of myself. There would be lots of stammering and maybe tears. I would definitely cry if I met Candace.

I guess I should state the purpose of this blog. I don’t want this to be another online diary of drivel and angst and emotions. I mean, I’m sure there will be some emotion and even a fair bit of drivel, but I hope I can also fit in some humor and inspiration and maybe just some assistance too. I want to talk about the things going on in this country, around the world, and in my local area as they relate to mothers. I want to throw out tips I’ve found useful for raising kids, lessons I’ve learned and ideas I’ve had.

The biggest reason I wanted to start this blog was to inspire. The Lioness. The hardest worker in then pride. She hunts for the males. She bears and takes care of the cubs. She teaches the young lions to hunt. As mothers we do it all. People are calling for lions to rise up and stand for rights and for freedom and liberty, but I’m calling for the lionesses. The women. The mothers. We are raising our kids in this crazy time in history and we need to be fierce. We need to protect our cubs and provide for our families. This blog is here to, hopefully, uplift and inspire you lionesses.
